Firefighter Benny Jones served with distinction with the Los Santos Fire Department during WWII, the first African American firefighter to enter the department since integration. A native of the Davis neighborhood in Los Santos, he served as a member of Engine Co 31. Firefighter Benny Jones lost his life in the line of duty during a civil disturbance, battling fires set by rioters before succumbing to wounds inflicted by a criminal mob. Firefighter Benny Jones became the first Los Santos firefighter whos death in the line of duty was officially documented.
